Female therapist, Taylor Geim, providing therapy for students in Guelph Ontario

Taylor Geim

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a Masters in Counselling Psychology (Yorkville University). I have experience working in addictions, post-secondary student wellness, private practice, and social service settings, specifically, with adolescents (13-17) and adults (18+).

I am passionate about delivering therapeutic interventions to allow for exploration of self to help gain greater understanding of one’s psychological, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Seeking support can be challenging; though, a courageous step on your journey to healing. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space, where we can work together to enhance well-being. My goal is to work with you to achieve goals, resolve challenges, and live a healthier life.

I take a client-centred and trauma-informed approach in session. To support my practice, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. In our work together, we will collaboratively create a treatment plan that suits you and your therapeutic journey.

Books that Inspire and Inform

Set Boundaries, Find Peace

  • This book highlights the philosophy that setting boundaries is a form of self-care; healthy boundaries are important to creating a healthy balance and fostering rewarding relationships (friends, family, and partners). Set Boundaries, Find Peace lays out how to establish healthy boundaries and allows you to understand your feelings and intentions. It encourages you to explore what boundaries are, different types of boundaries and how to honour them.

The Body Keeps The Score

  • The Body Keeps the Score guides the reader to understand the impact of trauma and how trauma affects our brain development, and mind and body awareness. It allows the reader to explore how trauma has impacted their own life and body and begin to heal.
